Bylaws Revision 2014—Get Ready to Vote

Next week, you will receive a ballot asking for approval of the revised OLAC bylaws.  The vote will be a straight yes or no vote, with no voting on individual changes. 
An email message with this announcement and accompanying informational documetns was sent to OLAC-L on September 2nd.

OCLC-MARC Update 2014, Phase Two

OCLC has now implemented changes related to the OCLC-MARC Update 2014, Phase Two.  This includes the remainders of the MARC 21 Bibliographic, Authority, and Holdings Updates No. 16, 17, and 18, as well as all MARC codes announced by the Library of Congress between April and June 2014.  Details can be found in OCLC Technical Bulletin 264.  The OCLC-MARC Update 2014, Phase One was implemented in May 2014, covering selected elements of MARC 21 Update No.

OLAC Board Positions filled

I am pleased to announce that the two candidates for open OLAC Board positions were approved by acclamation.
Our Vice President/President-elect-to-be is Stacie Traill, of the University of Minnesota Libraries, and our Secretary-elect is Jennifer Eustis of the University of Connecticut.  Stacie and Jennifer will begin their terms at the end of ALA Annual 2014.<

Call for OLAC Conference Scholarship Applications

 OLAC will award one Conference Scholarship that will provide funds for a member of Online Audiovisual Catalogers to attend the OLAC 2014 Conference in Kansas City, MO, October 23-26, 2014. See conference website

Eligibility: Any personal member of OLAC who has never attended an OLAC Conference is eligible for the OLAC Conference Scholarship.
