CALL FOR CANDIDATES – OLAC OFFICES

OLAC is seeking nominations for the offices of OLAC Vice President/President Elect and OLAC Secretary. Anyone interested in a challenging leadership position and an opportunity to learn about the organization from the inside should submit a letter of nomination indicating the position for which he or she wishes to run. It should include a brief description of pertinent qualifications and professional activities. All OLAC personal members are eligible to serve and self-nominations are highly encouraged.

Update from the Moving Image Work-Level Records Task Force

A draft version of the Report and Recommendations for Moving Image Works, Part 3a: Operational Definitions (DRAFT July 2, 2009) has been added to the Task Force web page and is now available.

OCLC’s Proposed Policy for Use and Transfer of WorldCat® Records

In November 2008, OCLC announced an updated policy on the use and transfer of WorldCat records. OCLC planned to implement the policy in February 2009, but has since decided to convene a Review Board of Shared Data Creation and Stewardship to review the policy from the membership point of view before a new policy is implemented.
